In a boss move from one of the world’s most empowering females, Beyoncé recently announced that she will be launching a program called Formation Scholars to provide scholarships for young women “who are unafraid to think outside the box and are bold, creative, conscious and confident. ” The scholarships will be awarded to one student at each of the following four schools: Berklee College of Music, Parsons School of Design, Howard University and Spelman College. Incoming, current and graduate students studying creative arts, music, literature or African American studies are eligible to receive funding and can apply directly through each school’s website.
To all of the deserving candidates out there, it’s time to take The Queen Bee’s advice and get in formation. As Bey would say, “always stay gracious, best revenge is your paper.”
