Admissions wants to know why you are taking your precious (and valuable!) time to apply. They want specifics, they want details, they want the receipts! But they also want you to keep it brief. So, begin by taking a moment to think: Why are you interested in this institution? Why would this school be a great place for you to pursue higher education? Maybe Earlham’s focus on Quaker values totally aligns with your own moral code. Will the Peace and Global Studies major set you up perfectly for a career in civil service and radical activism? Admissions wants to hear about it. No matter what your reasoning is, make sure to explain why Earlham is the perfect place for you to attend next fall. Bonus points if you can make it clear that not only is Earlham a good fit for you, but you’re a great fit in return, too.
